What is wellfd?
wellfd is a curated restaurant guide focused exclusively on locally owned restaurants in Northern Kentucky and Southeast Indiana. We help diners discover great local places through interactive maps, thoughtful restaurant profiles, and simple discovery tools.
How is wellfd different from other restaurant apps?
We're Curated, Not Corporate. Unlike platforms that list every chain and franchise, wellfd only includes locally owned restaurants. We don't sell placement, manipulate rankings, or prioritize advertising dollars. Our goal is honest discovery, not noise.
Is wellfd free to use?
Yes. wellfd is completely free for diners to use.
What does "Locally Grown Restaurant Group" mean?
This badge indicates the restaurant is part of a locally based hospitality group that began as an independent concept and expanded into multiple unique locations. The badge exists purely for transparency and does not affect visibility or ranking.
How do I get my restaurant listed on wellfd?
If your restaurant is locally owned and located in Northern Kentucky or Southeast Indiana, you can suggest it using our Suggest a Restaurant form or contact us directly. Every submission is reviewed before being added.
What subscription tiers do you offer?
We offer four tiers: wellfd Verified (Free) wellfd Essentials ($49/month) Community Partner ($199/month) wellfd Champion ($449/month) Higher tiers unlock additional features such as enhanced profiles, menus, photos, vouchers, and marketing opportunities. Visit our Subscription Tiers page for a full comparison.
How are price points defined?
Price points help set expectations for diners: $ – Budget-friendly ($10–15 per person) $$ – Moderate ($15–30 per person) $$$ – Upscale casual ($30–50 per person) $$$$ – Fine dining ($50+ per person) They are descriptive, not judgments of quality.
Menus: Structured vs PDF
Structured Menu (recommended) A mobile-friendly menu built directly into your wellfd profile. It's fast to load, easy to read, searchable, and simple to update. PDF Menu (optional) If you already have a designed PDF menu, you can upload it. PDFs are supported, but can be harder to read on mobile devices. You don't need a full menu to be effective. Even a partial structured menu with your most popular items provides real value.
Do newsletters promote restaurants?
No. wellfd newsletters are news-driven, not promotional. Restaurants may be featured when there's something genuinely newsworthy, such as a new chef, menu update, award, expansion, or community involvement. This keeps newsletters useful and credible for readers.
How do vouchers work with my POS?
Vouchers work alongside your existing POS system. When a customer presents a voucher, your staff scans the QR code to verify it, then applies the discount however they normally would. No integrations, no workflow changes, and no retraining required.
How do customers use vouchers?
Customers must be logged into wellfd to claim a voucher. Once claimed, it appears in their digital wallet with a unique QR code. When dining: the customer shows the QR code your staff scans it to verify and redeem A voucher only counts when your staff redeems it.
Can I control voucher rules?
Yes. You control how and when vouchers can be used, including: discount amount or offer type minimum purchase requirements valid days and times party size limits blackout dates Vouchers are optional, configurable, and designed to fit your normal operations.
What happens if a voucher is expired or already used?
The QR system will clearly show the voucher as invalid. Staff should not accept it.
What are "Happening Now" vouchers?
Happening Now vouchers are short-term, limited-quantity specials designed for real-time situations. They are meant to create urgency without creating operational headaches. Key rules: Each Happening Now voucher has a fixed end time (for example, "Good until 8:00 pm"). A voucher only counts when your staff redeems it. Claiming alone does not apply a discount. Quantities are limited and enforced automatically. There are two types: At the Table – Available only to guests already dining, accessed via in-restaurant QR codes. Nearby – Available only to nearby walk-ins and visible on the map for a limited time. Happening Now vouchers expire automatically and are fully controlled by the restaurant.
What is Fair Discovery?
Fair Discovery means we never sell ranking or placement. All restaurants appear together in search results and on the map. Paid plans enhance your individual profile, not your position.
How are restaurants sorted?
Users can sort and filter restaurants by distance, category, price level, and other discovery tools. Payment never affects ordering or visibility.
Why upgrade if placement is the same?
Upgrades improve conversion, not discovery. Enhanced profiles, menus, photos, vouchers, advertisements, and engagement tools help turn profile views into real visits.
Is my data secure?
Yes. We use industry-standard security practices to protect data and never sell information to third parties.
Can I update my restaurant information myself?
Paid subscribers can manage profiles through the Venue Manager Dashboard, including hours, menus, photos, and vouchers. Free listings can request updates through support.
How do I contact support?
You can reach us through our Contact page or by email. We typically respond within one business day.
Can I cancel my subscription?
